РУССКИЙ

On June 18, 2022, an open lecture was held at the Institute of Economics, Management and Finance of the Russian New University (ROSNOU) on the topic “Improving the law of the Eurasian Economic Union in the framework of interaction between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the World Customs Organization”. The audience of the event was 3rd and 4th year students of the customs specialty.

To date, a number of Russian universities have departments and faculties of customs, where they teach classical disciplines on the regulation of foreign economic activity and the organization of customs administration. In this regard, there is a need to organize practical classes with students with the involvement of practitioners.

The open lecture was held by Sergei Mozer, Ph.D. in Law, who, as part of his professional and scientific activities, deals with the issues of building productive relations between the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the World Customs Organization (WCO), as well as modernizing the EEU law based on the WCO legal instruments and tools.

During the lesson, students got acquainted with the theoretical and practical aspects of the traditional topics of the course of international customs law – topical issues of the WCO activities and its role in the formation of legal instruments and tools, the classification of such instruments and their application in the practice of customs authorities. Special attention was paid to the international legal aspects of the functioning of the Working Group on Interaction with the WCO, as well as to the improvement of the Union’s law.

The lecturer highly appreciated the preparation of the students of the institute, their motivation for learning and gaining

new knowledge. In turn, the university administration expressed hope for continued productive cooperation in terms of organizing practical classes for students.
