PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS OF EURASIAN ECONOMIC INTEGRATION IN TERMS OF COOPERATION WITH THE WCO

On October the 1st, 2022 an open lecture was held at the State University of Management on the topic «Problems and prospects for the implementation of Strategic Directions for the Development of Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025 in terms of Cooperation with the World Customs Organization». Lecturer – Mozer Sergei, Senior Researcher of the Research Institute in the Russian Customs Academy, Ph.D. In his professional activity, he specializes in researching the issues of interaction with the World Customs Organization (WCO).

The event was organized by the Institute of Public Administration and Law of the State University of Management.

Listeners are university students who get a specialty in the field of management, as well as economic and legal disciplines.

As part of an open session, Sergei Mozer revealed topical issues in the development of bilateral relations between the World Customs Organization and the Eurasian Economic Commission. Special attention is paid to the functioning of the WCO working bodies in terms of the development of modern legal instruments and tools.

The lecturer mentioned scientific and practical approaches to the implementation of the Strategic Directions for the Development of Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025 (Strategic Directions), explained the issue of obtaining the Union’s membership status in the WCO, as well as the possibility of joining the Union to the fundamental WCO legal instruments and tools.

University students got acquainted with previously made research papers on this issue, the classification of the WCO legal instruments in the context of customs institutions, as well as the legal, organizational approaches, activities and acts of the Eurasian Economic Union necessary for the implementation of the Strategic Directions in terms of cooperation with the WCO.

To date, the leadership of the Institute of Public Administration and Law is considering the prospects for introducing a new specialized course within the framework of additional professional education programs on topical issues of the development of customs regulation.

The lecture aroused interest among students, and cooperation within the framework of educational programs will be continued.
