The latest version of the Coordinated Border Management (CBM) Compendium contains a number of new features and aims to comprehensively support Customs administrations, Cross-Border Regulatory Agencies (CBRAs) and international organizations in strengthening implementation of CBM in various fields. The concept of CBM has existed for many years and refers to a coordinated approach by border control agencies, both domestic and international, in the context of seeking greater efficiencies in managing trade and travel flows, while maintaining a balance with compliance requirements.

Following a request for capacity building in the area of effective revenue assurance, the first Sub Regional Virtual Workshop on Post-Clearance Audit (PCA) for the Pacific Islands was organized by the WCO and the Asia Pacific Regional Office for Capacity Building from 23 to 26 November 2020, with the financial support of the Indian Customs Co-operation Fund (CCF/India).
At the invitation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the United Nations (UN) Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the WCO Secretary General, Dr. Kunio Mikuriya, spoke at the High-Level Meeting on Regional Cooperation for Trade and Transport Connectivity in the Age of Pandemics in Asia and the Pacific, held virtually on 2 December 2020. The aim of his intervention was to underline the vital role played by Customs in ensuring regional connectivity during the current emergency situation.
