WCO Sub Regional Passenger Controls Workshop – Jakarta Indonesia
The Directorate General of Customs and Excise of Indonesia (DGCE) and the WCO Asia/Pacific Security Project co-hosted a workshop in Jakarta from 16 to 19 October 2018, funded by the Government of Japan. 20 officers representing the Customs administrations of Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam attended the WCO Sub-regional Passenger Controls Workshop. The workshop was facilitated by the WCO Asia Pacific Security Project with assistance from United States Customs and Border Protection (US CBP) and Japan Customs.
A collection of scientific works of young scientists is published
A collection of scientific works of young scientists «Issues of political economy of Russia and the Far Eastern macro-region» is published in the Vladivostok Branch of the Russian Customs Academy. It presents the work of participants of the Youth Scientific Symposium of the Customs Faculty «Interaction of customs and business, innovative technologies, innovations of the law of the Eurasian Economic Union», the Youth Scientific Symposium of Economic Faculty «Economics of the Far Eastern Region: Issues of Development and Integration» and the Youth Scientific Symposium of Law Faculty «Russian political and legal reality: traditions and innovations». Symposiums were held at the Vladivostok Branch of the Russian Customs Academy on April 17–18, 2018 and were devoted to the 25th anniversary of the Russian Customs Academy. The work was attended by students and teachers, officials of the customs authorities of the Far East, representatives of universities and research organizations in the region. The publication is intended for students and teachers of universities, scientific and practical officers of the customs, economic and legal sphere.
10th TFA Working Group meeting agrees on its monitoring role for the future
The WCO Trade Facilitation Agreement Working Group (TFAWG) met for the tenth time on 22 and 23 October 2018. Delegates, representing Customs, other Border Agencies and Trade Ministries from WCO Members, Observers from several International Organizations, the Private Sector and Academia participated in the event. The Meeting was chaired by Mr. L. Satya Srinivas (India) who was elected from Vice-Chairperson to Chairperson, while Mr. Jonathan Page (Canada) was elected as Vice-Chairperson.
