One of the issues related to the assessment of the WCO legal instruments and tools as part of the comprehensive revision of the Revised Kyoto Convention.

Within the framework of the meeting, Sergei Mozer, Deputy Head of the Division of Advanced Customs Technologies, Department of Customs Legislation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (hereinafter — the Commission), brought to the attention of the experts of the Member States and the WCO Secretariat that the customs block of the Commission conducted a comprehensive study of the use of the WCO legal instruments and tools within the framework of the project on modernization of the Kyoto Convention.

He noted that the results of the study are reflected in the Guide «Legal Instruments and tools of the World Customs Organization», which was published in the WCO Regional Training Center (Russian Customs Academy).

The Guide systematizes and classifies all WCO legal instruments and tools developed over the period 1952 — 2020. The representative of the Commission emphasized that the Guide could be useful for the process of updating the International Convention on the simplification and harmonization of Customs procedures and, if necessary, is ready to acquaint the WCO Secretariat with the results of the study.
