Russian Customs Academy
On November 26, 2019 a lecture-discussion was organized at the Russian Customs Academy for students of the Customs Faculty* on the topic «Activities of the World Customs Organization in the field of modern Information and Communication Technologies». The lecture was held by Sergei Mozer, Deputy Head of Division of Advanced Customs Technologies, Department of Customs Legislation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (hereinafter – the EEC), Ph.D. at law.
During the event, students got acquainted with the normative activities of the EEC, including performed in the framework of interaction with the World Customs Organization (hereinafter – WCO, Organization). The EEC representative spoke about the activities of the main working bodies of the WCO, as well as the ongoing work of this international Organization to create modern customs administration tools, instruments and development of Information and Communication Technologies in the field of customs. A separate topic of the meeting was devoted to the development of the digital customs institute, its system elements, analysis of the Concept, Maturity model, as well as the Digital Customs Development Program of the World Customs Organization. During the dialogue with the students of the academy, the issues of writing diploma projects were considered taking into account the existing developments (tools, instruments) of the WCO posted on its official web-page. At the end of the lecture Moser Sergei emphasized attention on the issues of getting education at the post graduate school (study) of the Russian Customs Academy and the features of scientific research.
The lecture aroused interest among students. Similar workshops devoted to actual issues of international customs cooperation of the EEC – WCO will be continued as part of the interaction of the EEC – the Russian Customs Academy.
*Note: The Customs Faculty is the university-forming educational, scientific and administrative structural division of the Russian Customs Academy, which solves the tasks of training highly qualified personnel for the customs authorities of the Russian Federation and the Customs Services of the CIS Member States.
