In the period from October 18 to 20, 2022, a conference of the World Customs Organization was held in Maastricht, the Netherlands, under the theme “Driving Customs performance with data and technology in the changing landscape of global trade”. The Technology Conference was aimed at exploring technology-supported solutions enabling Customs to operate in a fully digital environment and create an operating model that captures and exploits data from across the trade ecosystem.
During the three-day event, various topics related to technology were considered, including the exchange of information between customs, data analysis, artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as the impact of growing volumes of e-commerce on customs, processes and procedures.
As part of the event, the customs service of the Netherlands held a separate thematic session and presented an overview of the state of development of customs regulation, as well as the application of advanced customs technologies on the topic “Customs Inside Anywhere, Insights Everywhere“.
