The 2017 edition of the Global Trade Development Week was organized in Dubai, from 30 October to 1 November 2017, under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy and in partnership with the Federal Customs Authority of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The event was attended by representatives from Customs administrations, ministries of trade, international organizations and the private sector from various regions of the globe.

6th WCO Technology and Innovation Forum gets underway
The World Customs Organization (WCO), in cooperation with Japan Customs, launched today in Tokyo, Japan, the 6th WCO Technology and Innovation Forum which gathered around 500 participants from Customs administrations, law enforcement agencies, government ministries and the private sector to discuss the most recent technological innovations and trends in border management.
1st WCO Accreditation Workshop on Customs Laboratories held
The WCO organized its first Accreditation Workshop for Technical and Operational Advisors on Customs Laboratory Matters from 23 to 27 October at the WCO Headquarters in Brussels, with the support of CCF/Japan. Twelve pre-selected candidates from the Customs Laboratories of Argentina, China, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Pakistan, Russia Federation, Sudan and Turkey participated in the programme.
18th Meeting of the SAFE Working Group drives forward the global security and facilitation agenda with tangible deliverables
The 18th meeting of the SAFE Working Group (SWG), held from 25 to 27 October 2017 at the WCO headquarters in Brussels, brought together over 125 delegates from Customs administrations, partner government agencies, the Private Sector Consultative Group (PSCG) and observer entities including international organizations.
