WCO participates in CLADEC Annual Conference

At the invitation of María Mancuso, Executive Director of the Latin American Association of Express Delivery Companies (CLADEC), WCO Deputy Secretary General Sergio Mujica attended the CLADEC Annual Conference, held from 2 to 4 November in Miami, United States.

High-level representatives from both the public and the private sector participated in the Conference, including representatives from US CBP, USAID, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Global Express Association. The Conference was also attended by 16 National Associations of Express Companies from throughout Latin America and the Caribbean: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.

In his keynote speech, Mr. Mujica highlighted the latest activities conducted by the WCO to contribute to facilitation and security of international trade, and the key role played by the WCO in supporting the international Customs community to achieve consistent and effective implementation of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement.
