New E-learning Course on WCO SAFE Framework of Standards

The World Customs Organization (WCO) Secretariat has released a new e-learning course on the WCO SAFE Framework of Standards. Based on the 2018 version of the SAFE, this course will give the participants a comprehensive overview of the three Pillars of the Framework and a deep understanding of underlying concepts, as well as the benefits of its implementation for Governments, Customs and the Trade community. A specific part is devoted to the concept of the Authorized Economic Operator Programme and associated processes.

The SAFE Framework provides modern supply chain security standards and espouses a new approach to the end-to-end management of goods moving across borders while recognizing the significance of a closer partnership between Customs, other government agencies and the private sector. The new version of the SAFE Framework offers new opportunities for Customs, relevant government agencies and economic operators to work towards a common goal of enhancing supply chain security and efficiency, based on mutual trust and transparency.

The course can be accessed by all staff from Member administrations on the CLiKC! platform. The access to the platform can be requested through the national coordinators.

The e-learning course will be released for other stakeholders early 2019 on the WCO Academy website.
