Dear friends,
On February 10, 2023 we presented to you two joint publications of the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the World Trade Organization (WTO): WCO/WTO Study Report on Disruptive Technologies (June 2022) and WCO/WTO paper “The role of advanced technologies in cross-border trade: A customs perspective” (2021).
Dear friends,
Recently, much attention has been paid to the development of the institute of digital, intellectual, smart customs as well as advanced customs technologies in the scientific community.
On February 15, 2023, the World Customs Organization (WCO) will organize a symposium on e-commerce and customs valuation.
The objective of this symposium is to expose how the development of trade through E‑Commerce is impacting on the Customs valuation of imported goods. In this symposium, we will hear about the challenges being faced by Customs and the initiatives taken and being developed to ensure effective control and collection of duties and taxes at the border. In addition, the private sector will share its challenges in its work with Customs related to this phenomenon.
Dear friends,
Due to my professional activity, from time to time I take part with interest in the scientific and practical events of the World Customs Organization (WCO), which I wrote about earlier. Usually, the WCO Secretariat sends an invitation in advance, followed by registration on the event (conference) page on the Internet. Option 1 – departure to the conference, option 2 – participation in the event virtually.
The World Customs Organization (WCO) is organising a Workshop on Rules of Origin from 8 to 10 February 2023, following immediately on from the 41st Technical Committee on Rules of Origin (TCRO), and is inviting you to take part in it.
