In the period from 1 to 5 March, 2021 at the Headquarters of the World Customs Organization (hereinafter – the WCO) the 24th session of the Revised Kyoto Convention Management Committee was held in video mode. One of the issues related to the assessment of the WCO legal instruments and tools as part of the comprehensive revision of the Revised Kyoto Convention.

В период с 1 по 5 марта 2021г. в штаб-квартире Всемирной таможенной организации (далее – ВТамО) в видеорежиме состоялось 24 заседание Управляющего комитета Пересмотренной Киотской конвенции. Один из вопросов касался оценки правовых инструментов и средств ВТамО в рамках всеобъемлющего пересмотра Киотской конвенции.

Launch of WCO Trade Tools, a new online database for the Harmonized System, Origin and Valuation

The World Customs Organization (WCO) is proud to announce the release of its new online tool, www.wcotradetools.org, which compiles information to support international trade actors in the classification of goods and the determination of the corresponding Customs tariffs and taxes. This new database offers a single point of access to the Harmonized System, preferential Rules of Origin and Valuation, through a completely new, user-centric and ergonomic interface.

WCO publishes updated version of the Coordinated Border Management (CBM) Compendium

The latest version of the Coordinated Border Management (CBM) Compendium contains a number of new features and aims to comprehensively support Customs administrations, Cross-Border Regulatory Agencies (CBRAs) and international organizations in strengthening implementation of CBM in various fields.  The concept of CBM has existed for many years and refers to a coordinated approach by border control agencies, both domestic and international, in the context of seeking greater efficiencies in managing trade and travel flows, while maintaining a balance with compliance requirements. 

Белорусская таможня принимает участие в заседаниях 83-й сессии Политической комиссии и 137-й сессии Совета Всемирной таможенной организации

Представители белорусской таможни во главе с заместителем Председателя Государственного таможенного комитета Александром Богдевичем  с 7 по 12 декабря принимают участие в заседаниях 83-й сессии Политической комиссии и 137-й сессии Совета Всемирной таможенной организации. С учетом сложившейся эпидемиологической обстановки мероприятия проходят в онлайн-режиме.

20 ноября 2020 года в режиме видеоконференции состоялась очередная Конференция руководителей Европейского региона Всемирной таможенной организации (ВТамО) под председательством Государственного таможенного комитета Азербайджанской Республики, как Вице-Председателя Европейского региона ВТамО.

WCO Research Paper № 50. Current situation, analysis and observations on waste control at borders by Customs

The global environment surrounding waste control at borders is evolving. Heightened import restrictions on waste by several countries in the last couple of years have impacted the way the world tackles waste. In addition, the new international rules based on the amendment of the Basel Convention will expand the Convention’s regulatory scope to cover plastic waste from January 2021 onwards. These changes assign greater importance to the role of Customs and strategies within Customs, as the major frontline organization at the border embedded in this globally evolving situation.
