COLLECTION OF MATERIALS OF THE CONFERENCE “PECULIARITIES OF STATE REGULATION OF FOREIGN ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES IN MODERN CONDITIONS”
From November 14 to November 18, 2022, the Rostov Branch of the Russian Customs Academy hosted the IX International Scientific and Practical Conference «Peculiarities of state regulation of foreign economic activity in modern conditions», which was attended by practitioners from the customs authorities, representatives of state and commercial organizations, professors teaching staff of the Russian Customs Academy and its branches, as well as teachers of universities in Russia and foreign countries (program of events). The main goal of the conference is the exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of customs, digital economy and digital technologies, which are actively used in the system of customs administration.
ON DEVELOPMENT OF INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMS COOPERATION
In the period from June 27 to July 4, 2022, the Russian Customs Academy organized the work of the II International Scientific Summer School “Development of International Customs Cooperation”, which is a virtual educational platform where officials and specialists of the Federal Customs Service, scientific and pedagogical workers of the Russian Customs Academy, as well as the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) present reports and share practical experience with university students on topical issues of international customs cooperation.
Members of the WCO Europe region discuss solutions to cross-border e-commerce challenges
From 24 to 28 January 2022, the World Customs Organization (WCO) delivered an Online Regional Workshop on Cross-Border E-Commerce for the WCO Europe region. The event was organized in cooperation with the Europe Regional Office for Capacity Building (ROCB Europe) who provided interpretation and the web-conferencing platform for the workshop. Close to 100 experts from 37 Member Customs administrations, as well as from designated postal operators from the Europe region, shared their experiences, along with information and insights provided by workshop facilitators and speakers from the Universal Postal Union, the Global Express Association, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, Alibaba Cainiao, Amazon and DHL.
Regional Workshop on Disruptive Technology for the ESA and WCA Regions
The WCO East and Southern Africa (ESA) and West and Central Africa (WCA) Regional Experience-Sharing Workshop on Disruptive Technologies was held from 17 to 19 January 2022. The workshop was organized with the financial support of the Korea Customs Cooperation Fund (CCF Korea). It was the fourth of a series of regional workshops on disruptive technologies that started in March 2021. The objective is to respond to a growing need from WCO Members to learn about these technologies and how they can be mobilized in Customs and the broader border management environment.

MAIN APPROACHES OF THE WORLD CUSTOMS ORGANIZATION TO THE CREATION OF THE INSTITUTE OF DIGITAL CUSTOMS
In the period from June 28 to July 5, 2021, the Russian Customs Academy (Academy) organized the International Scientific Summer School «Digital Technologies in Customs» (hereinafter – Summer School). The event is being held in accordance with the Plan of Scientific Work of the Russian Customs Academy for 2021.
WCO Second Global Conference on Cross-Border E-Commerce 2021
With the theme “Customs united effort on Recovery, Renewal and Resilience for a sustainable E-Commerce supply chain”, the Conference will bring together policy and decision makers, as well as operational experts from Customs, E-Commerce operators, international organizations, and other stakeholders. Considering the benefits of full implementation of the WCO E-Commerce Framework of Standards and the associated E-Commerce Package, Members and stakeholders will discuss Customs procedures renewal and innovation under COVID-19with the use of data and technologies for E-Commerce supply chain continuity. The event will stimulate and advance strategic thinking towards fostering innovative and inclusive partnership with E-Commerce stakeholders for a secure, sustainable and resilient cross-border E-Commerce environment.
WCO Regional Workshop on Data Analytics for A/P region
The virtual Workshop on Data Analytics (DA) for manager levels in the Asia-Pacific (AP) region, organized in close cooperation with ROCB AP, was held from 30 March to 1 April 2021, supported by CCF-Korea. Sixty four participants from 21 Customs administrations in the AP region attended the workshop.
ACTUAL ISSUES OF THE APPLICATION OF THE WCO LEGAL MEANS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE FUNCTIONING OF ITS WORKING BODIES
On March 24, 2021, a scientific and practical event was held at the Russian Customs Academy – the IV session of the Moscow International Model of the World Customs Organization, which gathered more than 50 participants from various countries. The event was held in the videoconference mode. The organizer – the Customs Faculty of the Academy.
