As part of the study of relevant legal instruments and tools, as well as best practices in customs regulation, we turned to the materials of the APEC Sub-Committee on Customs Proceduress, published in 2022. We recommend to get acquainted with report on the analysis and the pathway to paperless trade.
The World Customs Organization (WCO) has published an Annual Report on its work for 2021-2022. It summarizes the WCO’s structure and activities, and includes data on all WCO Members. Along with this, the published report reflects such sections as WCO Major Working Bodies, Path to the new WCO Strategic Plan 2022-2025, WCO News and Upcoming Events, New Regional Structures and Partnerships.
The WCO has focused on expanding its presence in the regions in recent years through the establishment of a number of Regional Training Centers (RTCs) and Regional Offices for Capacity Building (ROCBs). The overall objective for establishing and running such regional entities has been to support Members’ organizational development, incorporate and reflect the WCO’s global strategy, capitalize on regional synergies, work closely with regional and local stakeholders and donors supporting capacity building, and address specific regional issues in a more relevant way.
The WCO Anti-Corruption & Integrity Promotion (A-CIP) Programme for Customs has developed a new Internal Affairs e-learning module, with funding from the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) and Canada. The course is now available in English on the WCO CLiKC! e-learning platform and will be offered in French, Portuguese, Arabic and Spanish in the upcoming weeks.
